Robert Speaker, PGA

Director of Golf

Robert has been at Deer Creek since 2000.  He entered the PGA of America program in 2002 and has been our Head Golf Professional since 2004.  His specialty in the PGA is teaching. 

Before turning professional Robert taught 32 years in the public school system.  Robert has both Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Education.  During his first years of teaching, he coached High School golf and tennis at Bloom High School.   When he moved to the College level he started the NJCAA program at Prairie State College and qualified golfers for the National Junior College Championships.  He retired from Prairie State College as a full Professor in 2000. 

Robert's many years of teaching have made him a very patient instructor.  He always has the student's success in mind.  Contact either Robert or the golf shop staff to set up a lesson.

Ken McCormick

Assistant Golf Professional

Before turning professional Ken did undergraduate and

graduate work in Business.   Upon graduation Ken decided on

a career in golf because as he says “Golf is my passion”.  He

is very enthusiastic as a teacher and understands the

frustrations a beginning golfer goes through when learning

this wonderful game.  He is one of the instructors for Matteson Park District

lessons, as well as many other special clinics thru the summer months. Ken has been successful in teaching in a number of sports because he understands what it takes to excel.
